Metal plates attached to stone post by the A6070, in parish of Burton-in-Kendal (South Lakeland District), 250m South Southwest of Heronsyke, Dalton, on grass verge, on West side of road. Lancaster twin iron plate, erected by the Garstang & Heronsyke turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BURTON / MARKET CROSS / ½ / MILE : : DALTON : : LANCASTER / TOWN HALL / X / MILES : Grade II listed.
