Carved stone post by the A107, in parish of Hackney (Hackney District), on West side of Clapton Common, just South of Craven Walk, behind bar and pavement, by common grass, on East side of road. Erected by the Hackney turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (SHOREDITCH CHURCH 4) - based on 1894 OS map. Carved benchmark on front face. Milestone Society National ID: MX_LZXX04.
