There are a few of these temporary landing stages along this section of river, built a few feet from the shore and intended for deeper drafted trip boats that would provide their own gangplank. The signs say "Attention please take care when stepping on or off the boat. Be patient and don't push". Whether that refers to pushing other people or pushing the boat I don't know, but either way is likely to result in someone in the water. The expensive houses on the far bank are either just in or just out of the square depending on whether you go with the 1:25K or 1:50K map.
