Stone post (plates lost) by the A226, in parish of Swanscombe and Greenhithe (Dartford District), London Road, West of junction with Galley Hill Road and High Street, East of Car showrooms, in pavement back to flint wall, on North side of road. Gravesend iron plate, erected by the Dartford & Strood turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- : (3 / MILES / TO / GRAVESEND) : : (19 / MILES / TO / LONDON) : Kent HER.
