Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of Longden (Shrewsbury and Atcham District), Hook-a-gate, by Three Mile Cottage on pavement, on Northwest side of road. Erected by the Shrewsbury to Longden & Castle Pulverbach turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- SALOP III MILES Shropshire HER.
