Cast iron post by the A531, in parish of BETLEY (NEWCASTLE UNDER LYME District), 50m South of "Hand & Trumpet" PH, Wrinehill, on the verge in front of wooden fence, on West side of road. Dudley iron casting, erected by the Newcastle under Lyme & Nantwich turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : MILES / BETLEY 1 / BASFORD 4 / NANTWICH 8½ : : MILES / NEWCASTLE 7 / KEELE 4 : Grade II listed.
