Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Petrockstowe (Torridge District), Brandise Hill, quarter mile South of village, on grass verge, on West side of road. Torrington tombstone erected by the Great Torrington turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- TO TORRINGTON 8 MILES Carved benchmark on lower face. Milestone Society National ID: DV_GTHA08
