Metal plate attached to stone post by the B3400, in parish of SMANNELL (TEST VALLEY District), Andover Down, junction of the B3400 with 'The Middleway', by the road, on South side of road. Overton pillar and iron plates, erected by the Andover & Basingstoke turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : LONDON / 62 / ANDOVER / 2 : : LONDON / 62 / BASINGSTOKE / 16 : Milestone Society National ID: HA_BAAN16.
