Carved stone post by the A523, in parish of RUSHTON (STAFFORDSHIRE MOORLANDS District), South of Ryecroft Gate, in hedge, on East side of road. Erected by the Leek & Hassop, Middlehills & Buxton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- : (Leek / 4) : : (Macclesfield / 8) : Staffordshire HER.
