Stone post (plate lost) by the A656, in parish of LEDSTON (LEEDS District), Barnsdale Road, just North of minor crossroads to Fairburn, stone laid face down on verge 5m South of 50 mph sign, on East side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Casting lost. Inscription once read:- : (DONCASTER / 19 MILES / PONTEFRACT / 4¾ MILES / CASTLEFORD / 1½ MILES) : : (BARNSDALE & LEEDS ROAD / HOOK MOOR / BRANCH / ALLERTON / BYWATER) : : (BOROBRIDGE / 25 MILES / WETHERBY / 12¾ MILES / ABERFORD / 5½ MILES ) : Hole in top.
