Carved stone post by the B5235, in parish of WESTHOUGHTON (BOLTON District), Bolton Road, against garden wall of No. 234, 140m from the junction with the A6 Manchester Road, by the road, on South side of road. Lancs. CC stone triangle, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / BOLTON / 4 MILES / CHORLEY / 9½ MILES / MANCHESTER / 12¾ MILES : : WESTHOUGHTON : : TO / WIGAN / 6¼ / MILES : Milestone Society National ID: LA_BOWG04.
