Oxford Mileway Marker by the UC road, in parish of Oxford (Oxford District), in the hedge on the north side of Warneford Lane in a hedge against the railings of Cheney School opposite the Lodge. Grade II Listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1369693. The Oxford Mileways Act of 1576 made all those living within five miles responsible for the maintenance of the first mile of all the roads out of Oxford beyond the city limits.
