Oxford Mileway Marker by the UC road, in parish of Oxford (Oxford District), Marston Road; on footpath along Cuckoo Lane to Pullens Lane, by railings at side entrance to government buildings. Grade II Listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1046587. The Oxford Mileways Act of 1576 made all those living within five miles responsible for the maintenance of the first mile of all the roads out of Oxford beyond the city limits.
