Old AA Sign on the northwest facing wall of the thatched and Grade II Listed Old Post Office on Main Street, Fringford, 4½ miles northeast of Bicester. Fringford parish. This is the circular, village name on black band, no Motor Union symbol or name type, dating from 1923, and showing distances Bicester 4½ Brackley 6 London 59½. The distances are Bicester 4½ Brackley 6 London 59½. There were five series of AA signs, mostly dating from 1923 and made by Francis & Co / Franco in Deptford, London. The village name and distance to London were usually displayed.
