On Sea Road, Methil, this white house has been derelict and boarded up for as long as I've lived in the area (22 years). It is marked on Historic Environment Scotland's Canmore map as a 'Gate House' but there is no other information available. There is a track extending beyond the gate and it may indeed have been the gatehouse to one entrance of the now long-gone Wemyss Brick Company which once occupied the site beyond the house (now the premises of Naylor Industries Ltd. Image). The fenced area to the left is an electricity sub-station.
