The main entrance to the store is visible at the right. In an attempt to stay in line with the Cotswold vernacular of building in limestone, the building uses reconstituted stone as a cheaper alternative to the real thing. Unfortunately that material doesn't weather that well and becomes stained as can be seen to the left of the 'W'. Liz Hurley reportedly pops into Waitrose for her groceries when she is staying in her home in Barnsley (that's Barnsley GL7 not Barnsley S70 by the way) as do Neil and Christine Hamilton. On the left is the church of St John the Baptist in another square. For those wishing to minimise the risk of running into celebs there's always Tesco http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/609025
