On the Nunney Brook. The pond - clearly man-made - probably powered a woollen mill or 'factory', known as Nunney Coombe Mill', and active in the period 1808-1842. There were a number of water-powered woollen mills in parishes around Frome in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries
