Old AA Sign located on the wall of a single storey workshop or garage on the east side of the road in Hutton Roof, 3 miles east of Kirkby Lonsdale. Hutton Roof parish. This is the circular, village name on black band, no Motor Union symbol or name type, dating from 1923 and showing distances Lupton 1½ Burton in Kendal 3¾ London 252¼. There were five series of AA signs, mostly dating from 1923 and made by Francis & Co / Franco in Deptford, London. The village name and distance to London were displayed.
