Old AA Sign set inside the Kentish Horse PH on the west side of Cow Lane immediately south of its junction with Cowden Pound Road in Markbeech, 3 miles southeast of Edenbridge. Hever parish. This is the circular, village name on black band, no Motor Union symbol or name type, dating from 1923, and showing distances Cowden 2¼ Tunbridge Wells 8½ London 30½. There were five series of AA signs, mostly dating from 1923 and made by Francis & Co / Franco in Deptford, London. The village name and distance to London were displayed.
