Metal plate attached to stone post by the A365, in parish of POULSHOT (KENNET District), bottom of Caen Hill, West end of dual carriageway, 85m West of lane to Poulshot, on wide verge, close to met station mast, on South side of road. Burt iron casting, erected by the Devizes (consolidated) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Not visible on Streetview in April 2021. Inscription reads:- : BATH / (?) : : LONDON / 9(1) : : DEVIZES / (2) : Maker:- : BURT / DEVIZES : Grade II listed.
