Abbots Farm (farmhouse)

As seen from the public bridleway leading past here. The farm once formed part of the Stoke Hall estate, which was sold in 1931. According to the sales catalogue, it used to be a dairy and stock farm and the house is described as "of attractive appearance and modern construction, approached by its own carriage drive". The ground floor comprised an entrance hall, a large drawing room, a dining room, a business room, a kitchen with a range, a scullery with a sink, a pantry with a sink and a larder. Four bedrooms, a bath, a toilet and a housemaid's cupboard were on the 1st floor and the 2nd floor had three bedrooms, a tank room and a housemaid's cupboard. The farm is still managed by the family who had tenanted it back in the 1930s.
