This is a relatively new path, appearing on the 1933 1:2500 map. After a short difficult section where the path is very narrow between a landslip and trees it slopes gently down the hillside through Snake Hill Wood to join Birks Hall Lane. The Carriage Drive to Birks Hall goes through a gate on the left along the top of the hillside, at first, and then sloping gently down to Brackenbed Sports Park.
