The junction with the A35 can be glimpsed at the end of the road. Portfield Road at first glance appears to be a street of uniform semi-detached houses, but on closer inspection they turn out to be built in a variety of styles. This end of the road seems to have been built between the wars, or possibly in the 1950s.
