Metal plate attached to stone post by the A642, in parish of WAKEFIELD (WAKEFIELD District), Aberford Road, Stanley, outside No. 220, in pavement against wall, on East side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : WAKEFIELD / 2 MILES : : WAKEFIELD & ABERFORD / ROAD / STANLEY : : ABERFORD / 11 MILES / OULTON / 3 MILES : Hole in top. Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Grade II listed.
