Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of HOOK (HART District), Station Road, South of the station, opposite Bartley House, on grass verge behind tarmac footpath, on West side of road. Hook pillar, erected by the Basingstoke, Hartfordbridge & Blackwater (and Odiham) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / READING / 13 / Miles / -- : : TO / ODIHAM / 2 / Miles : Carved benchmark on lower right. Grade II listed.
