Metal plate attached to stone post by the A361, in parish of SWERFORD (WEST OXFORDSHIRE District), Banbury Road; Swerford Heath, 50m West of lane to Heath Farm and 150m East of old toll house, in hedge behind wide cut verge, on North side of road. Chipping Norton iron plate, erected by the Burford, Chipping Norton, Banbury & Aynho turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- Chipping Norton 6 Banbury 6¾ Miles Oxfordshire HER.
