Carved stone post by the A129, in parish of GREAT BURSTEAD AND SOUTH GREEN (BASILDON District), 100m North of pedestrian crossing, by the road, on North side of road. Erected by the Rochford Hundred (Div of Essex First Dist) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (London 24) Essex HER.
