The concrete track, once a service road on a disused WWII airfield, forms the border between the woodland and the adjoining field. The former airfield is situated between the villages of Beeston and Wendling and most of the old runways and tracks remain, but all the wartime buildings are long gone. The present owners have erected a number of large turkey sheds on parts of the former runways.
