The concrete tracks traversing the fields in this area are part of a WWII airfield, now disused. The former airfield is situated between the villages of Beeston and Wendling and most of the old runways and tracks remain, but all the wartime buildings are long gone. The present owners have erected a number of large turkey sheds on parts of the former runways.
