Carved stone post by the A343, in parish of HIGHCLERE (BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE District), by Belgret, just North of bridge, The Mount, in domestic hedge on small well kept grass, on West side of road. Newbury waist, erected by the Andover & Chilton Pond turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : NEWBURY / 4 : : SARUM / 30 : : ANDOVER / 12 : : OXFORD / 30 : Carved benchmark on bottom front. Grade II listed.
