Metal plate attached to stone post by the A61, in parish of HAREWOOD (LEEDS District), Harrogate Road, opposite Spring Gardens Cottage, North of A659 junction, on banking under hedge, near lamppost 23H798, on East side of road. WR iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : WETHERBY / 6¼ MILES / BOSTON / 7 MILES / LEEDS / 8 MILES / TADCASTER / 11 MILES : : LEEDS & HARROGATE / ROAD / HAREWOOD : : HARROGATE / 7 MILES / OTLEY / 8¼ MILES : Hole in top.
