Cast iron post by the A38, in parish of CHURCHILL (NORTH SOMERSET District), North of Langford Court, set well back from road on wide grass verge, against wooden fence, on North side of road. Bristol Trust iron casting, erected by the Bristol turnpike trust in the 19th century. Relocated to the bypass from its original location on Langford Road. Inscription reads:- : TO / BRISTOL / 11 : : 1837 / BRISTOL TURNPIKE TRUST : : TO / CROSS / 5 : North Somerset HER.
