Cast iron post by the A512, in parish of SHEPSHED (CHARNWOOD District), Ashby Road West, Southwest of Blackbrook Hill House, on the verge, opposite lane that was the old road, on North side of road. Wootton iron casting, erected by the Loughborough & Ashby de la Zouch etc turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : LOUGHBORO / 5 / MILES : : SHEPSHED / PARISH : : BURTON / ON TRENT / 16 / MILES : Maker:- : WOOTTON BROS / IRON WORKS / COALVILLE : Milestone Society National ID: LE_LBBT05.
