Carved stone post by the A205, in parish of BARNES (RICHMOND UPON THAMES District), Upper Richmond Road; East Sheen; crossroads at centre, on pavement, on South side of road, junction with the B351 Sheen Lane. Surrey limestone pillar, erected by the Surrey & Sussex turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : VI / Miles / To3 / Quarters / from / Hyde / Park / Corner : : X / Miles / from the / Standard / in / Cornhill / LONDON / 1751 : : VIII / Miles / from / (-Great?-) / Kingston / Bridge : Carved benchmark on front at bottom.
