This is a sports field on Barnbow Common, and the former home of Leeds Corinthians Hockey Club which sadly folded in the late 1980's. Back in those days there were four men's hockey clubs in the city of equal strength, with Leeds University adding a fifth. The demise of Corinthians left the following. Adel H.C. that has now become Leeds Adel H.C. Bardsey H.C. which is now Boston Spa H.C. Ramgharia H.C. which is a mainly Sikh based club Farsley H.C. which became Leeds H.C. in the mid 1990's and is now the major force in the city, with one team in the National League at present.
