The course of the ex-GWR main line from Birmingham via Stratford upon Avon to Cheltenham came between the trees and where the two bollards in the centre of the picture are located and ran where the road in the foreground is currently sited. The new roadway forms an eastern bypass around Stratford and the roundabout, situated slightly to the left of the actual level crossing is on the Evesham Road.
