Rock on the beach at Pevensey Bay, commemorating the Pevensey Bay sea defences. The plaque reads: "Pevensey Bay Sea Defences This plaque was unveiled on 22 June 2000 by Elliott Morley MP Minister for Fisheries and the Countryside To mark the signing of the first Flood Defence Public Private Partnership contract in England. This 25 year contract between the Environment Agency and Pentium Coastal Defence Limited is for the long term management of sea defences in Pevensey Bay. The contract is grant aided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food."
