Metal plate attached to stone post by the B1002 (was A12), in parish of INGATESTONE AND FRYERNING (BRENTWOOD District), High Street, Barclays Bank, by Nos. 74 and 76, in doorway, on North West side of road. Erected by the Essex Second District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : Chelmsford / 6 : : TO / LONDON / 23 / Ingatstone : : Brentwood / 5 : Grade II listed.
