Carved stone post by the B5062, in parish of WROCKWARDINE (TELFORD AND WREKIN District), Ercall Magna; opposite Poynton turn, by the road, on South side of road. Erected by the Preston Brockhurst (Shrewsbury to Shawbury) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Possibly lost during new development 2021. Inscription once read:- : (Newport / 12) : : (Shrewsbury / 6) : Shropshire HER.
