Metal plate attached to stone post by the A673, in parish of HEATH CHARNOCK (CHORLEY District), Heath Charnock, near Adlington, at junction with the A6, by traffic lights on verge, on East side of road. Bolton Plate, erected by the Bolton & Nightingale turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- BOLTON 9 MILES, CHORLEY 2 Milestone Society National ID: LA_BOCY09.
