Carved stone post by the B6462, in parish of PENISTONE (BARNSLEY District), Church Street, Penistone, on North side of church, in churchyard wall, near lamppost 5 and base of big tree, on South side of road. Erected by the Huddersfield & Penistone turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- SHEFFIELD 13 MILES Carved benchmark on top right front (inverted). Grade II listed.
