Stone post (plate lost) by the A2, in parish of GILLINGHAM (MEDWAY District), London Road, Twydall, East of junction with Hoath Way and opposite Tesco superstore, by car showroom, in pavement, back to car lot, on North side of road. Dover Road facet, erected by the Chatham & Canterbury turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (33 / MILES / To / LONDON) : : (7 / MILES / To / SITTINGBOURNE) : Kent HER.
