Stone post (plate lost) by the A638, in parish of WAKEFIELD (WAKEFIELD District), Dewsbury Road, opposite Broadway, in hawthorn hedge (hidden in summer) near Wakefield sign and lamppost No.79, on North side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- : (WAKEFIELD / 1 MILE) : : (WAKEFIELD & HALIFAX / ROAD / WAKEFIELD) : : (HALIFAX / 15¾ MILES) Milestone Society National ID: YW_WKHA01.
