There are private long-term moorings along the field side of the Shropshire Union Canal near Brownhills Farm. The narrowboating community often complains about the expense of owning and operating leisure narrowboats; boat licence, mooring fees, insurance, cost of boat maintenance, diesel fuel etc. It is not a cheap activity. Some people can't really afford it ... especially if engine or other mechanical problems strike. That's enough to drive anyone to drink. ;-)
