The Hampden I bomber (L4173 GL-T2) which crashed on 31st of May 1942 while attempting a landing on runway 04 at Horsham St. Faith's was from 14 OTU at RAF Cottesmore, Rutland. 31 year old Flight Lieutenant Wilfred Lawrie CAMERON (Pilot) was serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. 26 year old Sergeant John Edward SHERIDAN (Navigator) was serving with the Royal Australian Air Force.
