Carved stone post by the A272, in parish of TROTTON WITH CHITHURST (CHICHESTER District), Trotton Common, 50m East of turn to Chithurst, in deep hedge. Midhurst stone, erected by the Midhurst & Sheetbridge turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 38 / MILES TO / BRIGHTON / 3 MILES TO MIDHURST / 10 / MILES TO / PETWORTH : : TROTTON : : 25 / MILES TO / WINCHESTER / 7 / MILES TO / PETERSFIELD : Milestone Society National ID: SX_BRPF38.
