Carved stone post by the A64, in parish of SCAMPSTON (RYEDALE District), West of Sherburn, just West of entrance to Sherburn Lodge, in front of house with white gate, on North side of road. Malton tombstone, erected by the District Council in the 18th/19th century. N.B. The photo was taken in front of Sherburn Lodge, but the original location, the listed location, and the stone's position from 2016 was by the entrance to Sherburn Lodge Cottage at GR: SE 94979 76755 Inscription once read:- : (S'BOROUGH / 11) : : (MALTON / 11) : Grade II listed.
