Metal plate attached to stone post by the A371, in parish of BRATTON SEYMOUR (SOUTH SOMERSET District), ¾ mile Southwest of Bratton Seymour, roadside verge beside wood, on North side of road. Wincanton iron plate, erected by the Wincanton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- Wincanton 3 Caſtle Cary 3 Carved benchmark on stone. Grade II listed.
