Cast iron post by the B1416, in parish of WHITBY (SCARBOROUGH District), Ruswarp Lane, High Stakesby, by No. 8; 100m South of roundabout junction with the A171, by the road, on East side of road. Bedale rose iron casting, erected by the District Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : PICKERING / 20 / {arrow->} / MALTON / 28 : : (NORTH RIDING OF / {rose} / YORKSHIRE) / WHITBY / U.D.C : : WHITBY / 1 / {<-arrow} : Maker:- : F MATTISON & Co / BEDALE : North Yorkshire HER.
