Stone post by the UC road, in parish of Liverpool (Liverpool District), Knotty Ash, junction of Thomas Lane with Thingwall Lane, on pavement. "Paid for and inscribed with the initials of James Clemens, merchant and shipowner, Lord Mayor of Liverpool 1775-1776 who lived at adjacent Ashfield, the gate house of which is in my photograph."
